> More detailed strategy guide than the quick start one?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

- Look at these sites:
Like a Star @ heaven Wiki Page
Like a Star @ heaven Help Desk
Like a Star @ heaven Glossary

- Basically...

Like a Star @ heaven Factory upgrades = instant +PP
Like a Star @ heaven Farm upgrades = faster pop growth, each pop above 1 gives +PP & +Research.
Like a Star @ heaven Cybernet upgrades = faster Culture growth, Higher culture = more planets you can have.
Like a Star @ heaven Lab upgrades = faster Science research...
Like a Star @ heaven SBs = defence only.

- Up you Factories the fastest
- Keep your farms close to the level of your Factories
- Up cybernets and labs opportunistically (Ie, just bought a factory, and have enough left over to pick up a cybernet or lab)

Once you get to about lvl 8, things slow a bit. they go faster if your pop is growing well. But basically get factories, then farms, then the other 2 to level 10's in that order.

Then be opportunistic with development.. factories always before the other 3. The other 3.. well, everyone has an opinion about which ones are more important.

If you get to level 11, and you have a player level above 0, then consider buying SU's to up the buildings, instead of PP. It really depends on the current cost of SU's, and the level you want to get to. (Ie, current price is ~700 A$. Would only use an SU for levels 13+).. but then there's also the money you get back for using an SU. The amount depends on what all of us are using SU's for. Generally Factories will give you nothing back (since that' s the most popular one)... but the other 3 can give you back enough that buying the SU is worth it.
Again, right now it's ~700 for an SU. for getting to lvl 13, it's 649 PP. You can get back more than 100 A$ (depends on the building, can get back as much as 300), for using the SU. This drops the cost of the upgrade, below the PP value: good choice.
At the beginning of the beta, an SU can cost as little as 400 (might be less, but that's when I checked it)... getting 200 A$ back means you only spent ~200 PP getting an upgrade. That can get you to level 11 (288 PP normally)...
If you keep that going... ~200 PP each for levels 11, 12, 13, 14 will save you more than you actually put into getting it to level 10. ( I got to #7 best planet doing this... then got busy doing other stuff...)
Ok.. my thoughts went and wandered of into different directions... hopefully this might help some though...

> what is the best strategy to lead me into a great rank?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

- being ranked in the top is easy at the begining if you have a race with a bonus in pop. Finish in the top is just a little more complicated and depends on a lot of more things.

Note: It's game only, so try to play in a way which give you fun, experiment with everything, try different startegies and way of play, next choose one which suit you best. Don't cry if in your first and second round some1 beats you. Simply he is better and know more about game.

> how many planets you can own based on culture level?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

1 culture level = 1 planets
That means: same number of planets as your culturelevel
