> How do you choose your race malus ?

It depends on your goal for the game and the time you want (can) spend:
- "malus in culture is best to handle I think"
- "some members who took a malus on speed ... they all regreted this ... called turtle and snail, they had their worst round ever with a -4 on speed "
- "malus to defense might also be a pain in the ass as you would loose more fleet than necessary each battle "
- "a malus in growth hurts your production and science, as well as your points total. "
For non experienced player:
- do not take more then 4 malus in sum: smth like -2 cul / prod or -2 cul / growth is easy to handle and later on you maybe have an artefact, that let your malus shrink
For new player:
- do not play with the race selector tool at all for your first game
Note: "no race" is a good race too. We even have seen some players in top countdown with no race.

That depends on so many factors that it is hard to answer generally:
- You may play in an alliance that is rather large and has enough active, communicative player to protect you.
- You are also quite active and have started not too late into a new round.

Basically, a farmer will need growth/culture/productions bonuses. But be careful not to be too weak in battle. It's difficult to balance farmers bonuses and fight maluses.
Note: You need to be in the middle of a good team to farm.

If your whole point of producing is to build a big fleet... then u need +4 attack to hit the other big fleets.
If your whole point of producing is to rank... then why have any attack stats at all?

Speed ... + att/def...
Don't forget Science to get high Energy levels.
> Trader - is it good for a warrior?

Trader is best in mid-game. You can easily defend your mates while you have powerful fleet, as well as make more aggresive moves against your opponents.
Later in the game 100kA$ is not so much, and you actually have lower bonusses than normal players.
Trader max fighter is a much better race since the introduction of PL bonus (although less useful to teammates) , and has an extended domination to the early end game. If used right (no lost fleet , always fighting) it remains superior to other fighter races until around the first countdowns. It is a much better investment for an alliance than , say , the classic +4 +4 +4 max fighter.

Farmers select a race with high bonus on growth, culture and perhaps science. If they face a warrior attacking them, they have little chance to defend themself.
Warriors select a race with high bonus on speed, attack and defense. They eat farmers for breakfast.
But this is just a basic seperation. It is possible to mix the main aspects and create a farmer-warrior.

speed is a little bit important, but diplomacy and luck are key.
