> Why using cruisers or battleships at all?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

If you fight with 1 Battleship and win you will have no losses or 100%.
With destroyers you will more likely loose something, but more likely not 100%.

Your chance to win is reduce by using cruiser and/or battleships instead of only destroyers, but if you are going to battlefield while living in the edge of this small difference you should think about cancel the whole fight until you are more sure about the result.

With the new rules of Player Level (PL) difference as possible bonus (if higher than enemies) you need at least 1 battleship and 1 cruiser to gain advance from that rule.

> How do the ships compare to each other?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

- For as much as D's are a great way to get your attack points up, you still need Cruisers to help soak the damage ... and Cruisers are only good if you expect to win... add 100 Cruisers to a fleet, and your loss of D's and B's drop in a very large way...

B's are good for a balanced force addition, as they soak and deal good damage...

as with all things, never use just all of one type.. they each have benefits/drawbacks... mix and match is the best option.

> Non-combatant battles: transport & colonyship fights.

When it's CV = 0 the defending fleet will always win.

> Is it possible to level up my culture as the fleet of colony ships is on its way to the planet and then take over this planet?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

- You can take over the planet if you pass the next culture level before the fleet lands.
- Be sure to log in at a moment in time which is BEFORE your landing but AFTER the culture-LEVEL UP; oherwise it will not work.

Note: If you do not level up in time, simply relaunch one colony ship back onto the planet and the transition will occur once it re-lands.

> Colonize planets far away.

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

When the player reaches Bio level 25, at which level ships can travel to any system in the game by entering the System ID in the launch page of the Fleet Screen instead of selecting a system name in the list.

> Do it really worth to transform 2colony ship into 30 PP when colonizing a new planet ?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

If you want to transfert PP to a NEW planet, that's really helpfull.
To come on this conclusion, you just need to do a little operation : how many PP cost a new science/culture/production on your first planet? and, for how many PP can you up this building on your new planet?

> How do I conquer an unknown planet?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

- You must send transports not colony ships to conquer a planet, colony ships are only used to colonise free planets.

Note: You must send the same number of transport than the population of the planet you want to conquer. Then, add 1 more transport whenever the planet to conquer will grow his population

> can ships guard a plannet?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

- Yes, if you have a fleet in orbit it will defend the planet.
