I make a kind of summary about the Race attribut (from the french AW's forum with my personnal translation )

Attribute : Growth

Race : ranker/farmer

Advantage: used by ranker to get nice ranking - it's very good for farming (+2 points for all pop up to lvl 20)

Inconvenient : if u don't want to rank, then this attribute is useless - You have got grow up your social and focus on it constantly, most often at the begining of the game

To associate with : Production, Science

> Why using cruisers or battleships at all?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

If you fight with 1 Battleship and win you will have no losses or 100%.

With destroyers you will more likely loose something, but more likely not 100%.

Your chance to win is reduce by using cruiser and/or battleships instead of only destroyers, but if you are going to battlefield while living in the edge of this small difference you should think about cancel the whole fight until you are more sure ...

> How do you choose your race malus ?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

It depends on your goal for the game and the time you want (can) spend:

- "malus in culture is best to handle I think"

- "some members who took a malus on speed ... they all regreted this ... called turtle and snail, they had their worst round ever with a -4 on speed "

- "malus to defense might also be a pain in the ass as you would loose more fleet than necessary each battle "

> How to start trading?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

Read all about it in Trade and Trade Screen.

For a start you must achieve Player Level 1 to see that screen, and a population of 5 on at least one planet to use it.

Note: don't forget that you need to spend 20.000A$ on each trade, and you can do 5 trade max.

> Start Up Lab: Pro/Conter

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

Pro:

+ Quick science development at beginning

+ You can scan perhaps the players in your next neighbourhood

+ Not expensive (only 1 point)

Contra:

- useless in later gameplay

Note: You have a Lab 12 at beginning. But of course you can increase it like every building: this lvl12 is free of costs.

But, don't forget: start up lab is good for you if you play a hard core science strategy like Eco bonus hunting, ...

> Economy science: how do you grow it, how high and when.

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

- Eco 0 is fine ... until real-end game. And then no more than 17 or 20.

- If you don't fight before the end, you don't need a hudge eco.

- If you try to build a hudge fleet for the end : eco24/eco27 (even 30) could be a good choise. Depend of your science capacity.

- If you fight since the beginning, you should not stay with a 0 eco. 14 to 20 is a minimum then.

> What do you do with Supply Units?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

You have two options for a supply unit:

1. You can spend it on any building. If there is an amount of Astrodollars mentioned next to the building, this means you will raise that building to the next level and receive that amount of money. Caveat: it will only raise the building by the amount needed to complete it to the very next level, so if you have any points already towards that level, then the benefit ...

> how you buy artifacts?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

- For each "Player Level" you get access to one new artifact.

- At Player Level 8, new Artifacts available will be '(Artifact) 2' and give a 20% bonus, instead of the 10% bonus for '(Artifact) 1'.

- At Player Level 15, the new Artifacts will be "(Artifact) 3" and worth a bonus of 30%.

- Once Player Level 21 is achieved, no new Artifacts are available for purchase.

> What good are starbases?

Answer is on AW official's forum: here

- Starbases have the advantage that the CV per PP ratio is cheaper than with ships... so if you have a huge incoming it could help to build starbases, but also it has several disadvantages, e.g. being an easy target for crushfleets.

- You put them up last minute before the attacking fleet arrives.

- Starbases cannot be moved after the battle or if circumstances change.
